Artist's Comments

Sometimes... you just can't change what you are!

This painting is representational of the history of the Joker character from the Batman series.

I researched many comic stories about this character, The joker, and noticed that not one comic artist touched upon his history, without coming in contact with Batman.

There are many different stories of how this person became the Joker; he was dipped in chemicals and came out with green hair and a permanent smile, he cut his face open because of his wife, his father "put a smile" on his face as a child... So, this is my version of how the Joker became THE JOKER. This is the moment when he commits to his psychotical sociopathic-ness.

He just cut one side of his face... he's bleeding all over the place... but he's happy that he did this. He's very confident and content with his madness. His eyes give away his feeling and emotion.

The painting technique that is used in this painting is impasto (very thick paint - No thinner). This painting took a long time to develop. I created my own reference in photoshop and decided to paint the image because it was so striking. The image is completely original and produced by me.

so... this is for all of you! I hope you enjoy!

Creepy... :w00t: I like it, I like it very much. His hair is so beautifully done, and his hands as well, especially that ring on his finger as an added detail. And you pulled off telling his story well, I mean how the joker began, especially by only painting half of his mouth cut into that smile of his. :highfive:I hope that make sense. :p But, well done. This is really cool.
